An Idea is Born
The idea of Daytrippers came about after our founder, Hans, retired to his home state after a 30 year career in IT and project management. Soon discovering that staying at home and gardening weren't quite his thing, he became Tasmania's first Uber driver in 2016. Living on a rural property close to the airport, he started picking up incoming tourists from interstate and overseas. Having quickly established that he knew an awful lot about what to do and see in Tasmania, many would ask him to take them on longer tours. In order to do so, Hans jumped through all the legal and regulatory hurdles to create Daytrippers, an accredited and insured tour business providing tailored single and combination multi-day, tour experiences.
Our Customers
"Taking it easy" is what out customers want in common and its not easy when you are treated like sheep, crowded into large buses, follow fixed itineraries and flood each destination upon arrival. Our customers appreciate travelling in smaller vehicles, having flexible itineraries that can change according to customer wishes and quickly move on if any particular destination has just been inundated with large tourist buses! Tasmania may be in danger of over tourism, particularly at "iconic" destinations, but we have the flexibility to work around them.
Daytripperz are particularly suited to wine tours with friends or family groups that may be travelling with parent(s) or grandparent(s) with reduced mobility or special needs. We take the time to care. We take it easy.
