Why Daytripperz?
Simply put, we're just great value if you are looking for flexible private tours in Tasmania. If you have managed to find this website you will have noticed that you can not book directly on-line. Whilst this may initially appear incovenient, by contacting us direct you have managed to by-pass a congaline of marketing intermediaries and booking agencies, each typically taking a commission of 20-30%.
The benefit of private tours is that they can be completely flexible. We believe that no two trips are identical and that each should be tailored to meet your preferences, be they for scenery, history, culture or cuisine: be they for an active trip “doing stuff” or a passive one, just sitting back, relaxing and taking unforgettable photos. We can pick you up from anywhere within the Hobart CBD. On route you can stay at each stop for as long as you like You decide, we drive.
We really are different, typically well-travelled and highly educated Tasmanians, professionals who have returned home after a career on the Australian mainland or overseas. We pride ourselves on not only our local knowledge, but also on our general knowledge, sense of humour and ability to have an intelligent conversation! We're not just tour guides, we want to be your mentor and companion for the day.
Lastly, small is beautiful. We limit our group size to 4, 7 or 11 passengers per vehicle, thereby ensuring maximum flexibility and interaction. We have kept our costs low, allowing us to charge very competitive prices for private tours from $110* per person (minimum 4 passengers or price adjusted accordingly)
Where do we go? Anywhere the others go, including the Coal River Valley; Bruny Island; south to the Huon Valley, Hastings Caves and the Southern vinyards and cider houses; west to Mt Field and Russell Falls, Tasmania’s rainforest wilderness; east to Port Arthur and Wineglass Bay; or scenic highlight tours of the Hobart area. If you find a tour you like, let us know and we are happy to quote on a similar trip.
How much do we cost? Simple daily rates from $110 per person (if vehicle full or price adjusted accordingly) for "close to Hobart tours" increasing to $190 per person for longer tours. As well as very competetive small group tours, at the moment we have a "charter a mini-bus and guide" Coal River Valley "special". A wine and gourmet tour, which can take a party of 7 on a flexible (you choose the wineries) day tour for $770 ($110 per person)
How long are our tours? Most are of half or full day duration but we can undertake multi-day tours of up to a week in duration. Typically these involve using Hobart as a base for day tours to destinations including; Bruny Island, the Huon Valley, Mount Field, Russell Falls, vineyards and distilleries, Port Arthur and the Tasman Peninsula, Wine Glass Bay and the Freycinet Peninsula. Upon request, we can undertake tours that involve overnight stays in Northern and Western destinations including Strahan, Cradle Mountain and Launceston.

Hans has an absolute wealth of knowledge of the history of Tasmania. We enjoyed our time in Hobart, especially the night we went to Mount Wellington to chase the southern lights (and we saw two wild potoroos accidentally!!).Thanks again!Highly recommended!!!
